The Role of Social Media in Improving Islamic Education in Literature Review

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of modern society's daily life. In the midst of the rapid development of information and communication technology, the role of social media in the context of Islamic religious education is increasingly important. This research aims to explore and analyze the role of social media in improving Islamic religious education. Using a literature review approach, this research investigates various related literature to understand how social media influences the learning and teaching of the Islamic religion. The research results show that social media provides a platform that allows broad access to Islamic religious educational resources, facilitates discussion and collaboration between students, and expands the reach of da'wah and the spread of Islamic values. However, there are also challenges and risks that need to be taken into account, such as unverified content and the potential for spreading misconceptions about the Islamic religion. This research provides valuable insights for educational practitioners and policy makers to effectively utilize the potential of social media in improving Islamic religion educatiaon while still mitigating the associated risks
