The Impact of Youtube Social Media on the Development of Children's Morals in Tamansari Village, Tatae District, Duampanua District, Regency. Pinrang

Abstract

Based on observations of several children aged 5-10 years who often watch YouTube, it has positive and negative impacts on children. And to find out more, researchers conducted research on the impact of YouTube social media on the moral development of children in Tamansari Village, Tatae Village, Duampanua District, Pinrang Regency. By using a social science approach, especially a social communication approach. This research was carried out in Tamansari village which took place for 1 month from August to September 2023. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation and interview techniques with 8 parents and 8 children. The results of this research are the impact of YouTube social media on children's moral development, such as children who like to watch positive video content such as videos of Upin-Ipin, Rara and Nussa, Omar and Hanna and In Ancient Times. The impact on children is that children will appear more advanced than their friends and tend to be polite when speaking, while children who often watch negative video content such as Live streaming games and Skibidi Toilet, they will tend to be rude in speaking. words and a little disobedience to parents or other people
