Upz Rumah Zakat Empowerment Model in Conducting Community Coaching and Productive Activities (Case Study of UPZ Matraman Office, East Jakarta)
Abstract
This research aims to examine the management of
productive zakat funds for the empowerment of mustahik in a
case study at the UPZ Matraman Office, East Jakarta.
Management of zakat funds must be supported by the role of
professional amil so that the socio-economic impact of zakat can
be felt by the community. The main potential of zakat funds in
community empowerment is in alleviating poverty. So that the
distribution of zakat funds that have been collected is not haphazard. This research is a qualitative descriptive research.
The aim of this research is to describe the productive zakat fund
distribution system at the UPZ Matraman Office, East Jakarta.
In terms of distribution of zakat funds, there are two criteria,
namely consumptive and productive. Consumptive zakat
distribution is giving zakat funds to mustahik without involving
mutahik empowerment. Meanwhile, productive zakat
distribution is the provision of zakat funds to mustahik followed
by empowerment. The nature of the empowerment carried out
can be to provide business capital, it can also be in the form of
skills which are realized as education and training costs. This
research concludes with accurate data collection by submitting
proposals by prospective mustahik to the UPZ Matraman Office,
East Jakarta and identification of mustahik by amil.
