Abstract

The presence of a digital platform like social media is very influential in everyday activities. The existence of social media has a good impact on the community that can help to carry out day-to-day activities. Objective In describing the role of social media in Islamic religious education there are several positive impacts: 1. Unlimited in time and place 2. Expansion of Friendship Network 3. Easy to access and disseminate.   As for the negative impact: 1. Can spend money to go to warnet 2. Forget time if you've been playing social networks or rather reduce your effective time 3. Disrupting health. As for the method used in this research, the method is qualitative descriptive. The conclusion of this study is that the role of social media in education has a profound influence on everyday life
