Parental Communication Patterns in Limiting the Use of Gudget in Early Childhood in the Salumakarra Environment, Noling Village, Luwu Regency

Abstract

This research aims to determine communication patterns and factors inhibiting parents towards young children in using gadgets and to understand the impact that occurs on children in using gadgets in early childhood in the Salumakarra environment, Noling sub-district, Luwu district. In this research, it was found that parents' communication patterns in limiting the use of gadgets in early childhood included providing limits on gadget use, providing understanding in using gadgets, and controlling children in using gadgets. Factors inhibiting parents from limiting the use of gadgets are parents being busy, lack of understanding of technology, not being able to hold back feelings of pity for children, not being strict with children, and not controlling and limiting children in using gadgets. There are several negative and positive impacts resulting from the use of gadgets in the Salumakarra environment. Risk of dependency, difficulty regulating emotions, laziness in learning and difficulty being managed, as well as supporting children's independent learning, speeding up the learning process.
