ABILITY OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHERS IN CONTROLLING STUDENT BEHAVIOR

Abstract

The science of religious education given to students is one way to shape their religious behavior. Religious behavior instilled by Islamic religious education teachers is based on religious values that have been determined by religion. This study aims to determine the ability of Islamic Religious Education Teachers, Controlling student behavior at SMA Negeri 1 Benteng, Efforts of Islamic Religious Education Teachers in controlling student behavior at SMA Negeri 1 Benteng. This research uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. Sources of data used in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. While the object of research is the principal, Islamic Religious Education teacher, homeroom teacher, and students at SMA Negeri 1 Benteng Selayar. The results of this study indicate that the religious behavior of students at SMA Negeri 1 Benteng is in accordance with religious behavior taught in Islam, such as: greeting before entering class, being polite to others who pass in front of the teacher without permission, being obedient in worship (not reading prayer before starting the lesson and not reading the Qur'an). The efforts of Islamic Religious Education Teachers in shaping the religious behavior of students at SMA Negeri 1 Benteng are teachers using methods to control religious behavior, teachers see and understand students' religious behavior, control students in maintaining their religious behavior, develop religious behavior through religious education lessons.
