A PERSUASIVE APPROACH OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHERS IN IMPROVING STUDENTS' WORSHIP PRACTICES IN THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

The persuasive approach is one of the important approaches by Islamic religious teachers where this approach provides an understanding and maturation of the need for Islam. The purpose of this study is to find out the persuasive approach of Islamic Religious Education teachers and the factors that support and inhibit Islamic Religious Education teachers in improving the practice of student worship during the COVID-19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 2 Pa'jukukang. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, with research instruments used are interview guidelines, documentation notes. And data collection techniques used include interviews and documentation. The research results are; 1. This study proves that a persuasive approach for students at SMP Negeri 2 Pa'jukukang has been applied by Islamic Religious Education teachers in schools. We can see this in the guidance of a teacher who always provides motivation and encouragement so that students can improve the practice of Worship during a pandemic, even though learning is done online or online via WhatsApp, Google Classroom and also Google Meet. 2. Supporting factors for Islamic Religious Education teachers in improving the practice of student worship during the COVID-19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 2 Pa'jukukang, namely the availability of supporting facilities and infrastructure during the online learning process, adequate networks and parental support, while other factors In this pandemic period, the network is not stable, which makes students often late for lessons.
