STRATEGY OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHERS IN IMPLEMENTING THE VALUES OF RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE IN STUDENTS

Abstract

Schools as educational institutions not only teach educational knowledge but also guide character, especially with students of different religions, races and ethnicities. In schools where students are heterogeneous, interaction is not only with students of the same religion but also with students of different religions, this is where the strategy of Islamic Religious Education teachers in providing inculcation of religious tolerance values ​​so that students' tolerance is more focused in accordance with the noble values ​​of religion. The cultivation of religious tolerance values ​​in schools is not only carried out by Islamic Religious Education teachers but can also be carried out by Christian religious education teachers, Catholic religious education teachers, Hindu religious teachers, school principals and other general teachers. Tolerance is an attitude of mutual respect and appreciation between groups and individuals in society or in other scopes, in this case respecting the opinions of others or the thoughts of others who are different from ours and helping each other among humans regardless of ethnicity, culture, race and religion.
